Welcome to Tayler's Learning Center! My name is Tayler Schaltz, and I'd love to be a part of your child's educational journey. I provide tutoring and other special services in Marinette, Menominee, and surrounding areas.

In 2019 I graduated from UW-Parkside with my teaching degree. I taught 5th grade in the Kenosha Unified School District for four years. In that time, I also earned my master's degree in Literacy-Education through Concordia University. I currently hold Wisconsin teaching licenses for 1-8 general education, as a K-12 reading teacher, and as a K-12 reading specialist. My husband and I moved here in the summer of 2023 and I spent the last year teaching 8th grade literacy at Marinette Middle School.

My favorite part of teaching is seeing students gain confidence in themselves. Tutoring allows me to work closely with students to provide tailored learning experiences to their unique needs, using their strengths to help build on their areas of difficulty. I take pride in my ability to build rapport with students, and create lessons that are engaging, meet their learning goals, and make learning fun.

Levels of Teaching

I am licensed in K-12 education. In my classroom I have worked with students with a variety of abilities, including those with IEPs, specialized instruction, and gifted instruction.

Tutoring Options

Each tutoring session is tailored to meet your child's needs. Sessions are offered in 30 or 60 minute increments.

Subjects

I offer regular, specialized instruction in reading and writing for grades K-12.

I offer regular, specialized instruction for math, science, and social studies for grades K-5.

Essay Review

Essay review services include suggestions to ensure ideas are written clearly and concisely, and meet the requirements of the assignment. It also includes editing for conventions, spelling, and grammar. A brief 1:1 meeting after the review is available to clarify any suggestions and/or work together to make appropriate revisions. Virtual or in-person appointments available.

Learning Pods

$50/hour for pods up to 6 students

*Discount for private tutoring if also in a learning pod

Essay Review

$5 per page of essay

*Please allow for a 24 hour turn around time to finish giving feedback on essay.
